FAITH CLINIC
It’s important to understand the word FAITH, what it means, and why it is commonly used in our Christian faith today.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrew 1:1
Faith is real and very substantial, it is the evidence of things not seen. It is not the evidence of things that does not exist. They do exist, just that they aren’t seen.
Right in this natural world, it’s true that there are things that do exist which we cannot see visibly. We cannot see Television and Radio signals, but the truth is that they do exist. There are Televisions and Radio signals at different places where we are located, which you can’t see visually, that doesn’t mean that they are not there, they are simply not visible in the natural, because they exist in the unseen realm
It is a Televisions set that makes the unseen signal real to us. When we see images on our Television set that is not when they become real. They already existed, but in the unseen realm.
Our Television set doesn’t generate images. They only receive the signal and transmit them into images and sounds, and make them visible to us.
Probably you could understand my illustration better by the story in 2 Kings 6
When the King of Syria sent his troop to arrest Prophet Elisha based on the idea that it was Elisha who reveals his battle plan to the King of Israel. So each time the Syrian King attempt to ambush the King of Israel, Elisha would reveal the whole plan to him and warn him, and he would escape the Syrian evil plan. The King of Syria became upset and wanted to know who was behind the burning bush, then one of his servant revealed to him that prophet Elisha was the one who reveals his ambush plans to the King of Israel that made him escape severally. So the Syrian King sent troops to arrest Prophet Elisha.
And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots, And his servant said unto him: Alas, my master, how shall we do. 2 Kings 6: 15.
When Gehazi saw the troop, he became afraid, and cried out to Elisha regarding the situation. But then Elisha already saw in the spirit that they had more troops spiritually who were for them than they that were against them sent by the Syrian King.
Then he answered his servant and said, fear not, for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
You see, our faith must be real more than our human senses, and that’s how we prevails in the midst of this life battles and challenges. Though life situations and circumstances are there and visible, yet the truth is that the promises of God should be more visible to us than whatever the enemy tries to do against us in the natural.
The truth is that there were more spiritual hosts around the man of God Elisha, than the troops sent against him by the Syrian King. Just that those heavenly hosts operated in the unseen realm.
I therefore want you to understand that there is another realm of reality that is beyond our human senses, and those who finds it difficult to believe that will struggle in their walk with God; for the scripture says in 2 Corinthians 5:7, that, We walk by faith and not by sight.
And without faith it is impossible to please Him. For he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrew 11: 6
God relates with man on a platform of Instruction and those instruction when obeyed are considered as faith.
Faith is the distinction between a victim and a Victor. It is the distinction between a failure and a success. Faith is making movement in the light of God’s word.
Faith is a fight and not a dialogue. Faith is simply, obeying God.
There are 4 levels of our faith walk with God.
• MIND OF FAITH
Proverbs 23: 7 says; As he thinketh in his heart, so is he. And in Philippians 2: 5, Paul said; Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus. Both scriptures are equally true, that we as believer are to ensure that what we think and meditate on are in line with God’s word, and that where our faith in Christ begins from, and we would never be able to walk with God and live victoriously in this life if we fail to think godly thoughts.
Finally brethren, whatsoever things that are true, whatsoever things that are honest, whatsoever things that are just, whatsoever things that are pure, whatsoever things that are lovely, whatsoever that are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise. Think on these things. Philippians 4: 8
The period of thinking is always the time of incubation.
Thinking engages your mind productively to enable you act on the word of God.
The prodigal son didn’t pray his way back, he didn’t sing his way back, and rather he thought his way back home.
And when he came to himself, so it is his positive mindset that enabled him to find his way back home. And the bible says concerning Abraham; and being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deafness of Sarah’s womb. Romans 4: 19
Truly faith is not in the sensual realm, we do not believe or trust God with our human mind, rather with our spirit; however, our human mind plays an important role in the operation of faith.
The bible verse here said that Abraham refused to consider his own body which was already dead when he was about an hundred years old, neither the deafness of Sarah’s womb who was 90 years old at that time.
Abraham received a word from God regarding his expectation for a child, then he believed God and refused to consider the natural situation of things surrounding the very word he received from God. If Abraham had given his mind over to take into account all the natural factors surrounding the word he had received from God, his faith obviously would have made shipreck.
There is tremendous power in our human mind to visually create something and to bring them into reality.
Your mind makes a huge impact in our operation of faith with God. Whether fear or faith, they all begins from our human mind, your focus becomes drifted from God’s word, and then u will start sinking like Peter did, when he walked on the sea to Jesus. So follow the steps of Abraham, and keep your mind on the word of God. Isaiah 26: 3
He will keep in perfect peace whose mind stays on him, because he trust in him.
So dearly beloved, keep your mind on the word of God continually, then resist every temptation to consider the natural things around you, while you walk with God and you will see every single word which the Lord has spoken to you coming to pass.
• WORD OF FAITH
There is also a time to speak. You conceive the word in your mind when you think, but deliver it when you speak.
Nobody knows what is in a man’s heart except he speaks it out, and you cannot separate a real man from his word.
There is power in what you say, as there is in what you think.
How did God come about his exploit of creation? He spoke into existence those things that already existed.
Like he said; Let there be light, and there was light.
He was that light, meaning that he spoke himself into existence.
The earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And God said; God created the world with his own word, and the same principle applies, that you as a believer in Christ is to create your own world with your word. Amen
Millions of Jews who spoke negatively against God never made it to the Canaan land, rather they all died in the wilderness.
They declared what they wanted, though that wasn’t what God intended for them.
The Lord said unto Moses in Number 14: 28
Say unto them, as truly as I live saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you, your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness, and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number from twenty years old and upwards which have murmured against me.
God honors the words of a man’s mouth, whether they be positive words or negative words.
We cannot experience those wonderful things that God has destined us, if we continue to speak negative words against the plan of God for our lives, because there is power in confession.
You cannot speak death, and ever experience life, for death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit there of. Proverb 18: 21
If you don’t want the devil to reserve or hinder God plan over your life, you have to stop speaking negative words against yourself.
There are no jokes with the words you speak daily, because the words you speak is the outcome of the direction your life goes in life.
If thou shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10: 9 – 10
Check out on those words you have spoken in the past, they aren’t far from what you are and where you are today.
If that is true, then it’s important that you start speaking today what you want your life to be tomorrow
• STEP OF FAITH
Every great thing that anyone may think in their mind is never enough until a step is added to it.
And this wise saying, says; that Action speaks louder than words.
Don’t wait for things to work. You have to make them work.
Your thought informs God about the step you want to take, but your action gets him committed.
The law of science states that every object assumes its place of rest until a force is applied to it.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass. For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightaway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. James 1:22-25
God is not committed to whatever he says to you until you act on what he says to you.
Your voice threatens the enemy, but your step courses him to move away from you.
A number of things won’t move, no matter how strongly we believe God and how hard we pray, until you move. Faith is not reasonable, not rational, not logical, and not analytical. Faith is simply an action.
Those things which ye have both learned and received, and heard, and seen in me, do, and the God of peace shall be with you. Philippians 4: 9
Stepping out to obey God is the real evidence of your faith in God, and no matter the odds and circumstances, God expects you to move.
If you aren’t moving, it then means you haven’t believed God enough. Your faith is not yet genuine until it causes you to take a risk.
God understands what you think. He equally believes what you say. But he becomes committed and moves by what you do.
The former treatise have I made O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and to teach. Acts 1:1
Jesus was an example of a man who walked with God on earth by faith, and we as believers will never have to accomplish great things for God if we fail to walk with faith.
Faith is the lifestyle of a believer, yes it’s by faith we move and live and have our being.
Jesus also said in John 9:4, “I will do the works of him that called me while it is day, as the night cometh; when no man shall work.
Yes, you have and need to work with your father by walking in his word.
That’s how we walk by faith.
• REST OF FAITH
Another word for rest is Peace, which mean not being troubled in the midst of trouble. Jesus offered man Peace, regardless of life difficulties and challenges, and he demonstrated that in the gospel of Mark 4:39
And he arose and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea. Peace, be still, and the wind ceases, and there was a great calm.
Jesus saw the wind beating against their ship, but he wasn’t troubled, because he knew that the word of God has control over everything. For by him all things where made and without him, was nothing made that was made. John 1: 3
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, Joy, Peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, against such there is no law. Galatians 5: 22 – 23
Peace is one of the fruits of the Spirit, which God has made available to all men through Christ’s Redemption, and the work of the Holy Spirit. The fruit of peace is naturally made manifest to a believer through the anointing and the power of the Holy Spirit, when you receive him into your life. Praise God”
God knows that we need peace in this troubled world, and that’s why he provided it to every believer in Christ. Peace comes when you are aware of who you are, and what you have in Christ. And knowing for certain that your heavenly father has your back in everything that may come against.
So you as a believer can afford to rest on the promises of God’s word regardless of the circumstances around your life at a given time.
Not because you are not aware of what the enemy is doing, but just that u are not bothered, because you know that you are covered. Your father has your back.
And because you already know what God’s word said about the situation ahead of time, hence you refuse to be troubled.
You can afford not to be troubled, and trust God; even at the face of trouble, when all hail seems to be loosed against you. I tell you my good friend you don’t have any trouble, all that you need is faith in God.
